Sauerkraut in the Crockpot


 

 

1 medium onion
1 smoked pork hoax or other smoked meat
2 can of Sauerkraut
2 cup of white wine
1/2 cup of chopped Speck or bacon

1 bay leaf

pepper
1 potato

 

cut onion and speck into small slices and sautee lightly in frying pan
remove from heat and mix with
drained and rinsed sauerkraut
place pork hoax into crockpot
top with Sauerkraut
add the wine and seasoning
Cook on medium-high for 6 hours
add smoked sausages about an hour before serving

remove meats, keep warm

grate raw potato, and mix into the Sauerkraut the starch combines and thickens the juices

you can add some caraway seed for better digestion



serve with potatoes or mashed potatoes
