Sanford, Ivan LCol (Retired)
In hospital, surrounded by his family, on Friday, June 5th, aged 71. Cherished soul mate, best friend and husband of Ronnie. Beloved father of Tawna Turcotte(Andy), Tasha Sweitzer(Mark), and Brendan Sanford(Kelly). Treasured Papa/Grandpa of Ben, Mitchell, Devery, Tianna,Cayden, Erin, Jasmin, and Charlize. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Sanford, his sister
Donalda Zobell and his brother Wayne Sanford. Loving brother in law to Terry McDougall (Robbie) and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Ivan was born and raised in a small farming community near Berwick, Nova Scotia. At the age of 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served as a Fighter Pilot for 27 years before transferring to Transport Canada
as a Civil Aviation Inspector, giving him 41 years of public service.

To him, his most important accomplishment was the family he created with his loving wife of 51 years. Sadly, last Friday, he took his last flight and did so with honour and dignity. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends may pay their respects at :
Kelly Funeral Home, Barrhaven, 3000 Woodroffe Ave
Wednesday, June 10th 2015 from 7:00-9:00pm

We invite Service Members to wear their uniform.
