Jim "Jigger" Johnston passed away peaceful at home in Nanaimo, BC following a long 5 year battle with Cancer. He was stationed at Baden Soellingen 1976-1981 with 3 Mech and the RCR. Jim was very active in the forming of the 3RCR pipe band. His second tour 1986-1988 was with the PPCLI.


He retired after 33 years of service with the Canadian Military. Jim is survived by his wife Diane of Nanaimo and his son Dr. Michael Johnston of Ottawa
