What happened to the trophies and memorabilia that were part of the base's sporting community? My father died in 1966 while posted at Baden and had a trophy named in his honour. If the trophy was still kicking around somewhere, I would be interested knowing about it.

The trophies you speak of were split up and sent back to all kinds of different bases so that they could be reused by those bases for their own purposes. I know this as I worked in the packaging section of the base closure SAC and helped pack those trophies. I was the main packer/shipper for alot of the Base Memorabilia. This is what they did with all the NPF that they didn't sell. The decision to do this with the trophies was not a popular decision by many.
