Joan and Ernie Carlson

Ernie worked in SNAGS. We lived mostly in Rastatt on Sheffelstrasse.
We live in Edmonton Alberta now.
We are both retired. Ernie belongs to both th Edmonton Stamp Club and the Edmonton Coin club.

I was in Baden from 1988 (Lisa joined me in 89) to 1993. I worked at the CF18 Simulator until 1992 then in 1AMS as the DMS sort of god until we closed in 93. Lisa was (and still is a piano teacher) and we both worked at CFNS as well. I did Rock96 on Friday nights and Lisa did the afternoon drive show( I think it was called Spectrum). She ended up working there ful time for the last year.
What a great time we had over there. It is a shame the base closed. I feel sorry for the current CF members who will not get the opportunity to experience Europe like we did.
We are currently in Cold Lake (yes by choice) I am working in support of the military maintaing/operating surface to air missile simulators (a greasy civy contractor) and Lisa is still teaching piano. We have two great kids (Lyndsay & Laurence) who keep us very young with all their activities.

Ernie was IS Tech on 104's based at Baden -Soellingen from 71-76. We loved it. We lived mostly in Rastatt. Ernie spent a lot of off time skeetshooting. We live in Edmonton now.

 workshops Posted in Lahr 76-77 then 1CAG Baden 77-80. Casey Hayward, machinist for 15yrs. CFR'd in 1981 to AERE and retired from Goose Bay in 1996. Now live in Hopewell Cape, NB

Posted to Baden 76-80. Worked at the Base Hosp. Gail worked at the Bank of Montreal. Now retired in Halifax, been here for 20 + yr.

Re: Roll-call!! Lets see who is still out there 80-85 in Snags, and 439 Sqn. Also did the Old and Gold show Friday nights on CFNS. Also member of Baden Playmakers. Time in Baden ranks as one of top 3 life experiences. Now, all I need is a time machine to go back and do it all again.

We are now living after many postings in Ottawa where Paul is the EA to the Air Force Chief Warrant Officer and I am an MSE OP for the Executive. Enjoying Ottawa, but loved our time in Germany at Baden. Miss living in Hugie!!! We have been married 21 years and now have three children - Barbara 13, Matthew 10 and Charlotte 8.

Returned in 1980 working at Canex Stereo Department, then moved on to manage the Room International in 1983 until 1985. Now living in Edmonton, Alberta.
I see previous posts from Dr. Gonzo, Tim "Much More Music" Greensil, Gerry Last, Tim Flath and others that bring back fond memories of what once was a great place to live as a dependent, and a great opportunity to serve the military community.
I have known about this site for some time now, but am posting for the first time. Will look through my old photos, I may have some interesting ones to post.
