Good to see a reply from you again Spud. And all that time I thought that we were fixing those UG1000s to keep the Ruskis from drinking all that good Rhine valley wine!! Remember the Friday lunches Otto at the Sonne, what's the special today? Great times. Your pal Ferg

A Photo Tech posted to 439Sqn and then moved to the Baden Print Shop when the Recce role was closed out. I worked at the SKC Theater part time as a projectionist. Had a great time and would do it all again in a heart beat. I retired from the military in 2003 after serving Queen and Country for 37+ years. I'm now the DeWalt Rep for the Maritimes and living in Halifax. Cheers to All!!!!

France Gagne Laroche

d/w Mike Laroche, Safety System - lived in Hugelsheim and then Weitenung
We were there 1981-1987 - had two sons during our posting - who are now grown-up
I worked at Canex-cashier as a cashier- then as a girl Friday for the Armourer section on the CAG with Capt McJanet and CWO Greer and MWO Easton. Had a great time working there. My last job was at CFNS TV Station - I was the lady who would replace the video tapes in all Weitenung PMQ's everyday so that you could watch canadian programs.

Mike and I divorced shortly after our return but have remained good friends - he retired in Bagotville and been living in the Saguenay area since then but planning on coming back to Quebec City in a short while.

We had the best years of our life in Baden - we met wonderful people - travelled a lot - had wonderful memories. I sure miss everything from Germany that seemed like home to me. Coming back was the hardest experience even for the boys who kept asking to bring them back home for a while after our return to Canada.

Would be delighted to hear from anybody who remembers me!

Tchuss!

Just discovered this site and it's great.

I was a brat in Baden from '64-'67 and attended senior school.
Daughter of Sid & Doll Sharman, he was an aircraft tech, both participated in scouts & guides. Unfortunately, they both passed away last year leaving me with great memories. I'm looking to see if anyone out there has memories of them to share.

Wild Bill Ten Eyck: Completed my tour of Europe in Baden-Soellingen 1978-1984. Still in the mob, just starting 32nd year. Baden was a memorable posting that I think about daily. I still see plenty of fine folks here in Ottawa whom I worked and played with in 1 CAG. This is an excellent site where one can reminisce with fellow compatriots of that era. During a 02-03 tour of Bosnia-Herzegovina, I had 19 days of R&R visiting old stomping grounds in Europe of which Lahr (Starfighter) and Baden being most poignant. Who could ever forget those fondest experiences of our youth? Until later, Tchuss.
